Brief Description: Right wing flap brace and aileron gap fairing
Finished deburing the right flap brace and aileron gap fairing with my dremmel and the 1 inch scotchbrite wheel. A quick scuff with a burgandy scotchbrite pad, a cleaning, then primer. It was warm and sunny, so the primer dried quickly today.
Even though the inboard aileron hinge bracket isn't in place yet, there's no issues with riveting on the flap brace and aileron gap fairing. After verifying the rivet callouts, I used my squeezer and rivet gun to set the rivets. I had to drill out one rivet that I toppled. No biggie. Waiting for an order from Van's to move along with the aileron bracket.
I also ordered a harness from Stein for the HS-34 and the Garmin 496 so that it will integrate with the D180. I have the install kit for the Garmin GTX 327, so I'll take care of that myself (with the help of my brother Rick).
I also added grommet edging to the first four ribs of the right wing where the fresh air plumbing will run. The ACS part number is 05-00673 (Grommet Edging M22529/2-1R) It's being used so that the plumbing coming through the ribs wont chaff and get cut by the aluminum, even though it's not sharp.
